20, December, 2019: Dr. ShahriarHossain renowned ecologist, journalist and social justice advocate has reelected and re-appointed as a board of Directors of the Pacific Basin Consortium a worldwide leading scientific organization working for Environment and Health for sustainable future. Dr. Shahriar will serve as board of Director for next four years staring from 2020. He is the only Bangladeshi elected in the PBC board in 2016. He is also founder and secretary general of Environment and Social Development Organization-ESDO. The official announcement release yesterday (Friday) from PBC secretariat at South Brisbane, QLD, Australia.

As member of the PBC board of directors Dr. Shahriar will be dedicated to promote, focus and implement technology and information exchange on environment and health issues in the Pacific Basin, specifically including but not limited to issues related to hazardous substances/wastes, air and water pollution, climate change, and agricultural chemicals and the effects of these problems on human health;

Develop a network of individuals and organizations expert in the research and development of policy relating to and the management of the issues referenced above; serve as an objective source of analysis, review, and critique concerning the issues referenced above; and Stimulate, coordinate, and conduct research on and promote sustainable policies for management of environment and health issues in the Pacific Basin.
