Mr. Syed Marghub Murshed President
Mr. Syed Marghub Murshed is an eminent environmentalist and a social justice advocate in Bangladesh. He served Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Ministry of Public Administration, and Ministry of Information of the Government of Republic of Bangladesh as a Secretary from 1995 to 2002.

Professor Dr. Ainun Nishat
Vice President

Dr. Nishat is a Water Resource and Climate Change Specialist. He represented Bangladesh at the 2009 United Nations Climate Change Conference. Dr. Nishat, Professor Emeritus, BRAC University, is also reputed internationally as an Academician and Environmentalist.

Dr. Shahriar Hossain
Secretary General 

Dr. Shahriar Hossain did his PhD in Urban Ecology from Duke University, NC, USA. He has Masters degree in Environmental Studies, Government and Politics, and International Relations. He assists and advises in project planning and operational management of ESDO.

Siddika Sultana
CEO/Executive Director

Siddika Sultana has Masters degree in Social Science. She has Diploma degrees at Development Studies and Environmental Education. Siddika is responsible for organizational and operational management, project planning-implementation- monitoring & evaluation, supervision. Siddika also conducts capacity-building workshops on human resource development.

Prof. Md. Abul Hashem
Executive Member

Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Hashem, former chairman Department of Chemistry, Jahangirnagar University former Chairman, and (Chemical Division), Bangladesh Standard and Testing Institute. He is a member of the ESDO Technical Advisory Committee and assists the chemical team. 

 

Dr. Mahfuza Parveen
Executive Member

Dr. Mahfuza Parveen is working as an Associate Professor at the Department of Environmental Science and Disaster Management of Daffodil International University. She was given her Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Ecological Engineering from Saitama University, Japan. She is also a member of ESDO’s research coordination team.

 

Raisa Sultana
Executive Member

Ms. Raisa Sultana is working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Geography and Environment, University of Dhaka. She is assisting ESDO project teams with work on policy and plastic pollution.
