The Eighth Meeting of the UN Environment Global Mercury Partnership Advisory Group in Geneva, Switzerland

The eighth meeting of the UN Environment Global Mercury Partnership Advisory Group (PAG) will took place on Friday 22 September 2017 from 9.00 to 18.00 at the International Environment House 2, chemin des Anemones, Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting opened by the Global Mercury Partnership secretariat and followed by welcome remarks by the PAG co-chairs. Among others, representatives of the World Alliance for Mercury-Free Dentistry, Environment and Social Development Organization-ESDO, Asian Center for Environmental Health network countries were present in the meeting.

The key focuses of the meeting were:

  • Organizational matters
  • Review of overall progress, focusing on revised priority actions in light of Minamata Convention
  • Updates on Activities of the Global Mercury Partnership Secretariat including communication and outreach
  • Updates on other key activities by partners
  • Role and potential strategy of the Global Mercury Partnership with entry into force of the Minamata Convention
