As a result, the mainstream people also the indigenous people lost land. Eventually,\u00a0 the mainstream people were found to grab the land of some indigenous communities\u00a0 especially <i>Santals<\/i><i>, <\/i>an ancient tribal group, which is also a powerless minority group in Rajshahi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The contribution of ESDO to help the indigenous people regain their lands right:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>ESDO has conducted several meetings with the leaders of indigenous communities to perceive their problems. These meeting aimed at protecting their land rights<\/li>\n<li>There were also some awareness programs conducted among all of the people living there in Rajshahi<a href=\"http:\/\/esdo.org\/esdo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/images.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-178\" style=\"float: right; padding:10px\" src=\"http:\/\/esdo.org\/esdo\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/images.jpg\" alt=\"images\" width=\"200\" height=\"auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/esdo.org\/old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/images.jpg 259w, https:\/\/esdo.org\/old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/images-150x112.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 259px) 100vw, 259px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>ESDO has done several policy dialogues with the village leaders who are also Bangladesh parliament members in order to pressurize them so that they can pay attention to this issue<\/li>\n<li>The village leaders responded positively and now are cooperating with ESDO<\/li>\n<li>A few communities were given their lands back. However, it is an issue of many decades.
