There was a time when it was thought that human exposure to bisphenols comes mainly from canned foods, water and beverage bottles, and dental sealants. This perception has changed rapidly with the realization that thermal paper used at cash registers contains unusually high amounts of monomeric BPA and BPS and it could be a potential source of human exposure and subsequent absorption through the skin and, possibly, mucocutaneous junctions.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Environment & Social Development Organization \u2013 ESDO in association with Financial Industry Public Interest Foundation and Wonjin Institute for Occupational and Environmental Health, Seoul, South Korea conducted a study to share the findings on the presence of Bisphenols in Thermal Papers.<\/div>\n

To discuss this important issue ESDO organized a High-Level Policy Dialogue on \u2018Comparison Report on BPA in Cash Receipts\u2019 through the online platform Zoom on 11th April 2022 from 11.30 AM to 1.00 PM.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The event focused on highlighting the findings of the report which showed the types of Bisphenols present in the cash receipts that we use daily.<\/div>\n

Respected Chairperson of ESDO, Syed Marghub Murshed, Former Secretary, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh graced the event as Chief Guest. Dr. Mohammad Robed Amin, Line Director, Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Dhaka attended the event as Guest of Honor.<\/div>\n
