{"id":6740,"date":"2022-10-25T18:34:55","date_gmt":"2022-10-25T12:34:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/esdo.org\/?p=6740"},"modified":"2022-11-01T09:44:08","modified_gmt":"2022-11-01T03:44:08","slug":"with-the-pledge-together-we-can-solve-lead-pollution-esdo-jointly-observed-international-lead-poisoning-prevention-week-2022","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/esdo.org\/old\/with-the-pledge-together-we-can-solve-lead-pollution-esdo-jointly-observed-international-lead-poisoning-prevention-week-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"With the pledge &#8220;Together, we can solve lead pollution&#8221;, ESDO jointly observed International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"xdj266r x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">On the occasion of International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week 2022, Environment and Social Development Organization-ESDO, in collaboration with DGHS, Icddr&#8217;b, IEDCR, Pure Earth, UNICEF Bangladesh, and IPEN organized a human chain alongside a rally on October 22 to call for the complete banning of all lead-based paint in Bangladesh and the proper implementation of the existing law.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">The International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week of Action, co-led by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the UN Environment Program (UNEP), was established to raise awareness of the widespread availability of lead paint. Every year, the last week of October is observed as International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (ILPPW). This year marks 10 years of lead paint eradication efforts. This year\u2019s theme, \u201cSay no to lead poisoning\u201d acknowledges the increased urgency of action required to get rid of all sources of lead exposure.<\/div>\n<div dir=\"auto\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"x11i5rnm xat24cr x1mh8g0r x1vvkbs xtlvy1s x126k92a\">\n<div dir=\"auto\">Around 120 volunteers from Girls\u2019 Guide, Green Voice, and students of different universities participated in this human chain and rally.
