On December 24, 2024, ESDO successfully launched the report “Environmental Footprint of Single-Use Plastic Bottles: The Pollution and Health Hazards Across the Full Lifecycle.”

The event was graced by the presence of former Secretary of the Government of Bangladesh and ESDO’s Chairperson, Mr. Sayed Margub Morshed; ESDO’s Technical Adviser, Professor Abul Hasem; ESDO’s Secretary General, Dr. Shahriar Hossain; and ESDO’s Executive Director, Ms. Siddika Sultana. Additionally, esteemed journalists from the country’s leading media outlets participated in the event and shared valuable insights on combating the pollution caused by single-use plastic bottles.

This report sheds light on the environmental and health challenges posed by single-use plastic bottles throughout their lifecycle and calls for immediate action to reduce their impact in Bangladesh.
