ESDO & UNICEF Bangladesh Collaborate to Formalize ULAB Recycling

Dhaka, Bangladesh – March 9, 2025

ESDO, in partnership with UNICEF Bangladesh, successfully hosted a stakeholder workshop at M/S Zaman Enterprise, Jurain, Dhaka, to address the challenges and opportunities in transitioning informal Used Lead Acid Battery (ULAB) recycling into the formal sector.

The event brought together industry leaders, factory owners, policymakers, and informal sector workers to discuss key challenges, share insights, and develop a roadmap for safer and more sustainable ULAB recycling practices.

Workers’ Voices & Challenges: Informal ULAB recyclers shared their concerns, emphasizing the need for better safety measures and improved working conditions.
