Community Reflection & Action Workshop on CBM Toolkit Implementation & Medical Campaign

On April 28, 2025, ESDO organized the sixth workshop under its community engagement project, titled “Community Reflection & Action in CBM Toolkit Implementation”, in Ghosbag, Ashulia. The event focused on the environmental and health impacts of hazardous chemical exposure from the textile and garment industries in the region. Local residents, garment workers, women, children, and the elderly from both Ghosbag and Kathgara participated in the workshop.

The primary aim of the workshop was to present key findings from the ongoing project, highlighting the adverse effects of industrial pollution and its impact on public health. Community members engaged in meaningful discussions, expressing their concerns and offering suggestions for mitigating these issues, with a strong call for better waste management practices and more robust enforcement of environmental regulations.

In addition, ESDO collaborated with AGROHO Society to conduct a free medical campaign, providing essential healthcare services and free medicines to the local population. The campaign was met with an enthusiastic response, underscoring the community’s appreciation for accessible healthcare in their area.

Both the workshop and medical campaign demonstrated the power of community involvement and multi-stakeholder collaboration in addressing critical environmental health challenges and improving the well-being of local populations.
