A press briefing was held at ESDO’s headquarter in Dhaka today, unveiling our latest investigative report on the presence of heavy metals in teabag packaging materials. Although a preliminary study, as the first of its kind, ESDO is paving the path for further research by heightening awareness among stakeholders.
The event was graced by Executive board members of ESDO, representatives of Department of Environment, Bangladesh Teaboard, Bangladesh Food Safety Authority and Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution.
Upon presenting the report findings, media representatives from prominent news dailies and TV channels had shared their concerns with the relevant stakeholders.
All participants acknowledged the importance of consumer rights and safety as an integral part of food security.
