Dr. Shahriar Hossain, Senior Technical Advisor, ESDO was pleased to join the Networking Dinner: Protecting Health Across the Full Life Cycle of Plastics, held in Bangkok on 26 September 2026, bringing together Member State representatives, technical experts, civil society, and other stakeholders ahead of the ongoing plastics treaty process.
The evening provided an informal space to exchange perspectives on how human health and the environment can be better protected across the plastics life cycle, from prevention and chemical transparency to safer products, waste reduction, and a just and inclusive transition.
Discussions highlighted the importance of grounding policy in evidence from affected workers and communities, while recognizing that effective implementation requires accessible information, adequate financing, infrastructure, technical capacity, and meaningful participation.
