Marking the Start of Plastic-Free July and Raising Young Voices Against Plastic Pollution at Rajshahi Division!
We are thrilled to announce that Laxmipur Girls High School and Prothom Alo Alor Pathshala in Rajshahi Division have successfully transitioned into plastic-free campuses! This significant milestone reflects the dedication and hard work of the students, teachers, and the ESDO team.
To honor this remarkable achievement, a special graduation ceremony was held today. Organized in collaboration with ESDO, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, Department of Environment (DoE), and Mutual Trust Bank PLC, the event was a true celebration of commitment and perseverance.
Distinguished guests, including representatives from the Rajshahi Department of Environment and Rajshahi University, graced the occasion with their presence. The students showcased impressive 3D models addressing various environmental issues and presenting innovative solutions. Their dedication was recognized with awards, and the schools were officially declared plastic-free by ESDO, MoEFCC, DHSE, DoE, and Mutual Trust Bank.
Following the successes of Rangpur Zilla School, Rangpur Govt. Girls School, Govt. Coronation Secondary Girls’ School and Khulna University School in Khulna, and Lalmatia Girls’ High School and College in Dhaka, Laxmipur Girls High School and Prothom Alo Alor Pathshala are the latest institutions to achieve plastic-free status.
We extend a special thank you to our esteemed guests, dedicated teachers, and the tireless efforts of the ESDO team. Congratulations to all the students and schools for their incredible achievements! Together, we are moving towards a greener, plastic-free future.
