The textile industry in Bangladesh plays a pivotal role in the country’s economy, employing millions of workers and contributing significantly to its GDP. Bangladesh Institute of Labour Studies (BILS) and the Environment and Social Development Organization-ESDO, in collaboration with FEMNET e.V, have embarked on a transformative journey aimed at strengthening due diligence implementation in the textile sector.

The inauguration of the project was marked by the Inception Workshop held at the CIRDAP Auditorium in Dhaka on 27 February 2024. This event brought together key stakeholders from government agencies, industry representatives, civil society organizations to collectively strategize and chart a course towards achieving the project’s objectives. Through panel discussions, presentations, and interactive sessions, participants explored innovative approaches and best practices for promoting ethical and sustainable practices.
