An orientation workshop was held in the Barisal divisional office of the Department of Environment teachers and volunteers of Barisal Zilla School and Barisal Government Girls’ High School, where the Environment and Social Development Organization (ESDO) collaborated with the Department of Environment (DoE) for the “Plastic-Free Campus” project.
This day-long event was dedicated to educating participants on the detrimental impacts of plastic and advocating for sustainable alternatives. Attendees delved into discussions about reducing plastic usage, combating plastic pollution at macro and micro levels, and implementing strategies for fostering a plastic-free campus environment. Interactive activities like group discussions and poster presentations facilitated knowledge exchange and solicited valuable input from the participants.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by A. H. M. Rashed, Deputy Director of the Department of Environment for the Barishal division. Throughout the sessions, ESDO’s dedicated team members, including Khalilur Rahman, Assistant Program Officer, Jannatul Ferdous Jubly, Program Associate, and Shanon Iffat Alam, Program Associate, led the workshops and engaged with the audience to ensure a fruitful and enlightening experience for all involved.
