Environment and Social Development Organization-ESDO in collaboration with Mutual Trust Bank Limited (MTBL), Plastic Solution Funds (PSF), and Break Free from Plastic (BFFP), addresses the critical issue of single-use plastic pollution among school children in Bangladesh. On 30 December 2023, ESDO organized a follow-up session and planning meeting for the upcoming graduation ceremony under the plastic-free campus project. Students from 10 schools of 5 divisions actively participated in the follow-up session and shared their opinions and experiences gained during the project. A structured feedback session allowed students to express their thoughts on the project’s impact on their understanding of environmental issues, particularly single-use plastic pollution. ESDO evaluated the project’s effectiveness, taking into account the level of student engagement, knowledge retention, and the implementation of eco-friendly practices within the school premises. Discussions were held to outline the agenda for the upcoming graduation ceremony as well. The ceremony aims to recognize and celebrate the efforts of students and schools in contributing to a plastic-free environment. This follow-up session provided a comprehensive review of project milestones and activities. Student participation and feedback were solicited, revealing positive impacts on environmental awareness and initiatives within schools. Achievements include increasing awareness and engagement with various environmental clubs, ethics club, while challenges such as resource constraints were acknowledged. The Plastic Free Campus Project has made significant strides in raising awareness and fostering responsibility among students in the fight against plastic pollution. The follow-up session provided insights while the graduation ceremony planning reflects a commitment to celebrating collective efforts.
