Youth Voices for a Lead-Free Future: Empowering Change and Raising Awareness

📢 Youth Voices for a Lead-Free Future: Advocating for Change! 🌍
Today, in collaboration with UNICEF Bangladesh, USAID, CARE Bangladesh, and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, ESDO wrapped up International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (ILPPW) 2024 in Dhaka. With the theme “Bright Futures Begin Lead-Free,” our event brought together dynamic young voices and policymakers to call for a lead-free Bangladesh.

With over 35.5 million children in Bangladesh at risk from dangerous blood lead levels, youth leaders from schools and universities took center stage to demand stronger regulations, raise awareness, and inspire change. Students created impactful artwork, and banners, and held discussions, sending a powerful message to decision-makers about the need to eliminate lead exposure, especially for vulnerable communities.

🔊 Dr. Farhina Ahmed, Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, emphasized the importance of youth in the fight for a safer, healthier Bangladesh. Our youth’s advocacy is inspiring renewed efforts to strengthen policies, ensuring a healthier future for all.
