BAN Toxics and ESDO Strengthen Joint Advocacy for a Toxics-Free Future

BAN Toxics and the Environment and Social Development Organization (ESDO) have officially launched the second phase of their joint campaign in Bangladesh this week, continuing their strong partnership to advocate for a toxics-free environment. This collaborative effort aims to raise public awareness about the harmful chemicals commonly found in children’s products and everyday consumer goods that pose significant risks to human health and the environment.

Hosted by ESDO, the weeklong program features a series of impactful activities, including product testing, community visits, and knowledge exchange sessions with experts and local stakeholders. These engagements are designed to empower communities with information and encourage collective action towards eliminating toxic substances from daily life.

This renewed collaboration builds on the momentum of their successful 2024 initiative, which produced the groundbreaking study “Not Suitable for Children.” The report revealed alarming levels of toxic chemicals in plastic toys sold in both Bangladesh and the Philippines, sparking vital conversations and policy-level discussions in both countries.

BAN Toxics and ESDO remain committed to advancing a #ToxicsFreeFuture through cross-border solidarity and evidence-based advocacy, working together to protect children, families, and ecosystems from hazardous chemicals.
