Promoting 3R Implementation in Plastic Sector through GO & NGO Collaboration

On 23 July 2026, the Department of Environment (DoE) hosted the seminar “Promoting 3R Implementation in Plastic Sector through GO & NGO Collaboration”.
Hon’ble State Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Sheikh Faridul Islam graced the event as Chief Guest, with Dr. Md. Saidur Rahman, Additional Secretary, as Special Guest. The seminar was chaired by Dr. Md. Lutfar Rahman, Director General, DoE.
Keynote speaker Siddika Sultana, Executive Director of ESDO, presented on “Sharing the Experience of Zero Waste Village”, highlighting community‑driven solutions for sustainable plastic management.
This initiative was organized under the project “Integrated Approach Towards Sustainable Plastics Use and Marine Litter Prevention in Bangladesh”, implemented by DoE with financial support from the Government of Norway and technical assistance from UNIDO.
The dialogue emphasized the importance of 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) practices to ensure environmentally sound plastic waste management and build a resilient future for Bangladesh.
