Environment and Social Development Organization -ESDO, with support from UNICEF Bangladesh, successfully organized two insightful workshops titled โ€œMainstreaming Informal ULAB Recycling: Addressing Health, Environmental, and Economic Challengesโ€ on December 30, 2024 at CCDB Hope Foundation.

Under the project โ€œAddressing Children’s Environmental Health with Particular Focus on Lead Poisoning in Bangladesh,โ€ the workshop brought together informal ULAB recycling workers, community representatives, and key stakeholders to address the pressing challenges posed by unsafe and informal ULAB recycling practices.

During the interactive sessions, participants actively shared their experiences, highlighting the challenges of unsafe recycling practices and the urgent need for improved safety measures. Their valuable insights shed light on key areas such as health risks, environmental impacts, and regulatory gaps, emphasizing the importance of collaborative efforts to implement sustainable and safer lead management practices.

Together, we are making significant strides toward safer lead management and a healthier, toxic-free future! ๐ŸŒ
